Know where the complexity is
Reducing complexity is often a goal of design work, but you can only do that to a certain degree. Complexity may even be necessary because you are designing something inherently complex.
When thinking about making things easier, it helps to know where the complexity is and if you can move it away from the user. You may not be able to eliminate complexity altogether, but you may be able to increase the complexity of the system to reduce it for the user.
